Terms of Service
Last updated October 14, 2026
These terms govern your use of bluelakewebdesign.com and any services you buy fromBlue Lake Web Design. By using this site or hiring us, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
Where we sign a separate written proposal, quote, or contract with you, that document controls on anything it covers, and these terms fill in the rest.
Who we are
Blue Lake Web Design, 24120 Meadowbrook Road #219, Novi, MI 48375. Contactcontact@bluelakewebdesign.com or(248) 800-1855.
Using this site
You may browse the site and contact us. You may not scrape it, copy its content or code for your own commercial use, attempt to break into it, probe it for vulnerabilities, send automated traffic to it, or use the contact form to send unsolicited sales messages. We may block anyone who does.
Quotes and estimates
Prices shown on this site, including any starting price, are estimates for a typical project. They are not an offer and they are not binding. The price for your project is the one in the written quote we send you. A quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise.
Scope and changes
The work we will do is what the quote or proposal says it is. Anything outside it is a change, and a change may affect price and timeline. We will tell you before we do extra work, not after.
Timelines we give are good faith estimates. They depend on you supplying content, images, access, and feedback when we ask. Delays on your side move the timeline.
Payment
Project work normally requires a deposit before we start, with the balance due before launch. Monthly services are billed in advance and continue until cancelled. Invoices are due on receipt unless the quote says otherwise. We may pause work on an overdue account, and we may stop monthly services if payment is more than 15 days late.
Third party costs that we pay on your behalf, such as advertising spend, hosting, domains, plugin licenses, or stock images, are yours. We will tell you what they are before committing you to them.
Advertising spend
Where we manage advertising for you, our fee is for management. The money paid to Google, Meta, Microsoft or any other platform is separate and is yours. Those platforms set their own rules, pricing, and approval decisions. We do not control whether a platform approves an ad, suspends an account, or changes its costs.
What we do not promise
We do not guarantee rankings, traffic, leads, conversions, revenue, or any specific position on Google or any other platform. Nobody can. Search engines and ad platforms change their algorithms and policies without notice and without consulting us. We apply current best practice and report honestly on what happens. Any numbers we discuss, whether from past clients or projections, are illustrative and are not a promise of your results.
Your content
You keep ownership of the text, images, logos, and other material you give us. You confirm you have the right to use it, and you agree to cover us if someone claims otherwise. We may refuse to publish anything we believe is unlawful, infringing, or likely to damage our own reputation.
Ownership of the work
Once you have paid in full, you own the finished website design, page content, and images we created for you. We keep ownership of anything we built before your project and reused in it, including frameworks, components, code libraries, and internal tooling, and you get a perpetual license to keep using those as part of your site. Third party items such as themes, plugins, fonts, and stock photography stay under their own licenses.
Portfolio rights
We may show work we did for you in our portfolio, case studies, and marketing, and name you as a client, unless you tell us in writing not to.
Accounts and access
Accounts we set up in your name, such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Business Profile, and hosting, belong to you, and we will hand over administrative access on request. Keep your own credentials secure. We are not responsible for damage caused by someone else getting into your accounts.
Cancellation
Monthly services can be cancelled by either side with 30 days written notice. Work already performed is payable. Deposits on project work cover work already scheduled and performed and are not refundable. If you cancel mid project, you pay for the stage completed.
Liability
The site and our services are provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss. Where we are liable, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Links to other sites
Where we link to another website, we are not responsible for it or anything on it.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policyexplains what this site collects and who receives it. It forms part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Oakland County, Michigan, and both sides agree to that venue.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page at the time you engage us is the one that applies to that engagement. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
