It explains what we collect, what our advertising and analytics tools collect, and what you can do about it. ## Information you give us When you submit the contact form we collect your name, email address, your phone number if you provide one, your website address if you provide one, and the message you write. That is sent to us by email so we can reply. If you book a call we collect whatever you enter in the booking form. ## Information collected automatically Like most websites, our servers and our third party tools automatically receive your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, screen size, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the page or search that sent you here. ## Cookies and tracking technologies This site uses cookies and similar technologies set by the tools below. Some are placed under our own domain, some are placed by the third parties directly. We do not use a cookie banner, so if you do not want these cookies you should block or delete them in your browser, or use the opt outs listed further down. The site works normally without them. Cookies currently set under bluelakewebdesign.com include _ga and _ga_P8ENV9TKRX for Google Analytics, _gcl_au for Google Ads conversion measurement, and _clck for Microsoft Clarity. Google, Microsoft and Bing also set cookies under their own domains when their tags load. ## Analytics and advertising tools we use Google Tag Manager. A container that loads the tags below. It does not collect data on its own. Google Analytics 4. Measures how people find and use the site. It records pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser details, and how you arrived. We do not use it to identify you by name. Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing. We advertise on Google. Two things happen as a result. First, if you arrive from one of our ads and then contact us, Google records that as a conversion so we know which ads work. Second, we use remarketing, which means Google may add you to an audience list so that our ads can be shown to you again on Google Search, YouTube, and sites in the Google Display Network after you leave. This involves sharing your activity on this site with Google for advertising purposes. Microsoft Clarity. This one records your session. Clarity captures mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and the content of the pages as you view them, and replays it so we can see where people get stuck. It also builds heatmaps. Clarity attempts to mask input fields automatically, but you should assume anything you type on this site could be captured, and you should not enter sensitive information. Microsoft also links a Clarity identifier to a Microsoft advertising identifier, which means your visit may be used for Microsoft and Bing advertising. Cloudflare. Our host. Cloudflare serves the site, protects it from attacks, and collects aggregate performance measurements such as page load times. ## How we use information To respond to your enquiry, to prepare a quote, to deliver work you have hired us for, to understand how the site performs, and to measure and target our own advertising. We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not add you to a mailing list because you filled in a contact form. Note that under some state privacy laws, the remarketing described above counts as "sharing" personal information for cross context behavioral advertising, even though no money changes hands. If that applies to you, see Your rights below. ## Who receives your information Form submissions are processed by Web3Forms, which passes the message to our email, which is hosted by Google. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Analytics and advertising data goes to Google and to Microsoft as described above. Call bookings go through Calendly. Each of these companies has its own privacy policy governing what it does with that data. ## How to opt out Block or delete cookies in your browser, or browse in a private window. - Turn off Google Analytics with Google's browser add on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout . - Turn off personalized Google ads at myadcenter.google.com . - Opt out of Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft advertising at choice.microsoft.com . - Send Global Privacy Control signals from your browser. We honor them where they reach us. - Email contact@bluelakewebdesign.com and ask us to stop, and we will handle it manually. ## Retention We keep enquiry emails for as long as they are useful to the relationship. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity apply their own retention periods, which are measured in months, not years. If you would like your enquiry deleted, email us and we will remove it. ## Your rights Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. We extend these rights to anyone who asks, regardless of where they live. Email contact@bluelakewebdesign.com and we will respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of them. ## Children This site is for business customers. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it. ## Changes If we add or remove a tracking tool, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
